PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation apparatus capable of obtaining a user's intended overprint result.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus 1 includes: an interpreter unit 5 that discriminates whether input PDL data has a CMYK color space; a first color matching unit 9 that converts a color space of the PDL data other than the CMYK color space to the CMYK color space; an overprint detection unit 11 that detects whether overprint is designated to the PDL data in the CMYK color space; a drawing processing unit 13 that performs an overprint process on the PDL data in the CMYK color space in a region in which an object corresponding to the PDL data to which designation of the overprint is detected overlaps with a background object corresponding to PDL data present in a background of the former PDL data; and a second color matching unit 15 that converts image data after the overprint process by the drawing processing unit 13 to output colors according to characteristics of the image formation apparatus 1.
