<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably start an engine while preventing deterioration and damage of an inverter device. <P>SOLUTION: In an engine start controller of a hybrid vehicle, a control unit includes: a first determiner (S12) for determining whether there is a request for starting an engine; a second determiner (S14) for determining whether a crankshaft of the engine is in a lock rotation position where cranking lock is likely to occur when the first determiner determines that the engine start request has been made; and a cranking torque setting unit (S16) for gradually increasing a cranking torque of a starter until the crankshaft passes through the lock rotation position when the second determiner determines that the crankshaft is in the lock rotation position, and rapidly increasing the cranking torque to a normal torque when the lock rotation position is passed through. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
