The axle (1) has drive motors (3a, 3b) for driving power electronic units (6a, 6b), and driven gears (4a, 4b) provided with driving hubs (5a, 5b). The power electronic units and the gears are provided with a liquid circuit. Components of the liquid circuit are attached in the drive axle. The liquid circuit is provided with a circulation pump (10), a heat exchange unit (11) and a filter (12). The drive motors and the gears are accommodated in an axle housing (2) that is partially filled with liquid. The heat exchanger unit is connected to a discharge side of the circulation pump. The heat exchange unit is an oil air cooler. The drive motor is an electric drive motor or an asynchronous machine. The axle housing is an air-oil heat exchanger.
