An extractor fan activation system 1 comprises an extractor fan activation switch 2, a flow meter 4 to sense when water is flowing to a shower 5, and the flow meter and activation switch are in communication 6, 7 whereby a signal indicative of water flow is transmitted to activate an extractor fan 3. Communication may comprise a wireless transmitter 6 associated with the flow meter and a wireless receiver 7 associated with the activation switch. The communication may comprise a wired link between the flow meter and activation switch. The fan may be battery or mains powered and the flow meter may be battery powered. In a further embodiment (fig 2) a shower activation switch of an electric shower (105) may be linked to the fan (103) and turning on the shower activation switch turns on the fan at the same time. |
