<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for manufacturing a hydrocarbon mixture containing no oxygen, in an enhanced yield, from biomass including cellulose and wooden powder not through gasification and thermal decomposition. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a hydrocarbon suitable for a fuel from a biomass raw material includes: subjecting the biomass raw material to a pretreatment in an alcohol such as 1-hexanol; and thereafter hydrocracking the pretreated material by using a catalyst containing a porous solid oxide modified with a metal belonging to the periodic table 10 group or a compound containing the metal, such as platinum/H-ZSM-5, to manufacture an about 2-9C hydrocarbon in a very high yield. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
