A composition comprising the extracts of Galla Rhois and Moutan Cortex Radicis is provided to improve antibacterial and antiviral activity, minimize damage of conventional antibiotics including antibiotic remaining and antibiotic resistance, and inhibit toxicity or side effects in employment, so that the composition is useful for prevention and treatment of porcine respiratory and digestive disease in mammals. A composition for prevention and treatment of porcine respiratory and digestive disease in mammals including human comprises 0.1-50 wt.% of the extracts of Galla Rhois and Moutan Cortex Radicis in a mixing ratio of 1-3:1, which are prepared by extracting them with a solvent selected from water, C1-C4 lower alcohol and a mixture thereof, wherein the porcine respiratory disease is selected from porcine Pasteurella pneumonia, porcine Mycoplasma pneumonia, pircine atrophic rhinitis, porcine pleuropneumonia, Glasser's disease, PRRS(porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome), PMWS(post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome) and PRDC(porcine respiratory disease complex); and the porcine digestive disease is selected from Yersinia enteritis, proliferative enteropathies, colitis, swine dysentery, non-infectious colitis, Salmonella enteritis, Escherichia coli diarrhea, TGE(transmissible gastroenteritis) and PED(porcine epidemic diarrhea). Further, infectious bacteria of the porcine respiratory disease are selected from Mannheimia haemolytica, Haemopilus somnus, Pasteurella multocida, Mycoplasma hyopheumonia and Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia. |
