The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for analyzing an image and, more specifically, an apparatus and a method for analyzing an image which include, into image data, metadata calculated by analyzing an image by security equipment, and perform transmission. The method for analyzing an image comprises the following steps of: generating metadata by extracting feature information from inputted image; extracting a histogram of each of R, G, B components from the image; setting a given level range in the histogram as a first area; converting the level of R, G, B pixels included in the first area into any level existing outside the first area; including the metadata in the first area; and transmitting the color image including the metadata to one channel. According to the present invention, by transmitting image data including metadata by analyzing a histogram of image data, neither a separate channel to transmit metadata nor synchronization between image data and metadata is necessary. |
