The receiving device has a support element adapted for receiving and supporting of lower seat rail (14) of the vehicle seat (11). A coupling unit (9) is connected with the support element and is adapted for coupling with a lifting- and handling device (17). The support element has a shape characteristic which is so adapted for engaging in a negative shape characteristic on the seat rail that a relative movement between the support element and the seat rail is substantially obstructed in a support plane of the supporting element. An independent claim is included for a method for handling of a vehicle seat.
