The present invention relates to a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device having the same. More specifically, a polarizing plate includes a first protective film, a polarizer, a second protective film, and an adhesive layer sequentially layered, wherein at least one protective film is uniaxial oriented in a machine direction (MD), a front phase difference value (RO) is greater than 100 nm and less than 300 nm, and Equation 1, 0.0235RO - 7.35 <= NZ <= -0.015RO + 6.5 (herein, RO is a front phase difference value, and NZ is a refractive index ratio), is satisfied. Since the protective film for the polarizing plate has a high phase difference based on lower price than that of the related art, the protective film has good price competitiveness and prevents versicolor stains to maintain the quality of an image such as securing of viewing angle. |
