The present invention provides a hole transport material for an organic electroluminescent device having high efficiency and long life, and an electroluminescent device using the same. The hole transport material for an organic electroluminescent device according to the present invention is represented by the following Formula 1. In Formula 1, X is an aryl group or a heteroaryl group having 6-18 carbon atoms, Y is an aromatic ring, a condensed ring, or a hetero ring containing nitrogen having 6 to 18 carbon atoms, Z is O or S, Ar is an aryl group or a heteroaryl group having 6-18 carbon atoms, R is an aryl group or a heteroaryl group having 6-10 carbon atoms, or an alkyl group having 1-12 carbon atoms, and a is an integer from 0 to 3. |
