The device has a movable button (19) for moving a rod supporting contact elements (22, 23) to establish or interrupt an electrical contact between upstream terminals of a power supply unit of a defect processing circuit and corresponding connection terminals. The button is moved between a position in which a contact is established and the button is retracted relative to outside (20a) of a wall (20) to authorize closure of a transparent sealing cap (29), and another position in which the contact is interrupted and the button protrudes from the outside so as to prevent closure of the cap. An independent claim is also included for an electrical protection device.
