The present invention relates to a photovoltaic battery energy storage device and a controlling method thereof. The photovoltaic battery energy storage device according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a photovoltaic power generating unit which generates power from sunlight; a converter which boosts the power to a preset voltage value; an inverter which applies the boosted voltage value to a system; a battery; at least one switch which connects the converter, the inverter, and the battery, and performs a switching operation according to an operation mode; and a controller which controls the operation mode of the photovoltaic battery energy storage device and at least one switch operation according to the operation mode. |
