Disclosed are a steering device for a vehicle and a control method thereof. The steering device includes: a hydraulic device which intervenes in driver′s steering; a motor which applies steering torque by being equipped on a steering shaft, and which is selectively coupled to the steering shaft by having a clutch; and a controller which allows the hydraulic device to intervene in steering by turning off the clutch of the motor in normal states, and allows the motor to intervene in steering by turning on the clutch when an automatic steering is required regardless of driver′s will. |
