Disclosed are a set top box control method and apparatus. The method comprises: a first set top box obtaining an operation currently performed by the first set top box; the first set top box sending, to a second set top box, indication information that carries operation information of the operation, the indication information being used for instructing the second set top box to determine whether the second set top box also performs the operation. The present invention solves the technical problem that the application of set top boxes is not flexible because set top boxes lack interaction with each other in the prior art, thereby achieving the technical effects of improving the usage flexibility of set top boxes and improving the resource utilization ratio.
