[Problem] To enable a transition to power-saving mode in an appropriate manner depending on working conditions irrespective of a prescribed time for transition to power-saving mode, thereby making it possible to restrain wasteful power consumption. [Solution] A terminal device (104) is provided with an acquisition means (100) for acquiring information on a network, a display means (101) for displaying the information, and a control means (103) for exerting control on a hardware unit (102) except at least the acquisition means (100) to stop the operation or restrain the operation thereof while the information is being acquired by the acquisition means (100). As the operation of the hardware unit (102) can be halted or restrained while information is being acquired from the network, power consumption can be held down by an amount for the operation halted or the operation restrained, making it possible to extend battery life. |
