PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of an operation failure such as a sheet cutting error in a printing device.SOLUTION: A printing device comprises: a printing unit carrying out printing on a transported sheet; a sensor detecting a cut mark formed on the sheet; a cutting unit cutting the sheet on the basis of detection of the sensor; and measuring means for measuring a transport amount of the transported sheet. The sensor includes prediction means for detecting the cut mark within a range of an active period set based on measurement of the measuring means, and predicting an operation failure of the printing device in accordance with a change of a length of time since timing of starting the active period until detecting the cut mark. |
