The pipe sound damper (1') has a damping package (31) that is arranged in a damping portion (30). An internal channel (41) is mechanically sealed with respect to the damping portion. The internal channel is radially sealed along an axial portion by a non-rigid sound-permeable fiber-dense covering portion such as a glass textile portion (51). The damping package is radially arranged at a circumferential region of the covering portion. The damping package is formed of mineral wool, rock wool or glass wool. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing pipe sound damper.
