The invention refers to a device installable on a pitched roof and comprising a plurality of plates connected to the roof in order to support a sheet adapted to retain on the roof the snow accumulated thereon. Said sheet prevents the snow from sliding towards the roof gutter due to the gravitational force and then fall to the ground. The plates are provided with a hole for allowing a person required to move or work on the roof to anchor himself to the plate, and thus to the roof, hence preventing impact with the ground in case of fall.
