Disclosed is a hard capsule. The hard capsule which is disclosed comprises a water soluble cellulose ether, a gelling agent in an amount of between 0.5 and 1.5 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the water soluble cellulose ether, and an auxiliary gelling agent in an amount of between 0 and 0.3 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the water soluble cellulose ether; and the hard capsule comprises a body and a cap for sealing the body, and, in the body and the cap, the ratio of the maximum thickness relative to the minimum thickness is respectively no more than 2.5.
