The mold protection device (10) has a cover (20) that is provided for covering a portion of the tool (110) between a tool covering the covering position (A) and a tool releasing the release position (F). An actuator (30) is formed, and extended between the cover and the tool holder (120). The cover is moved from the capping position into the release position and vice versa. The sensor system (40) is coupled to the actuator, such that the movement of the cover in dependence on the position of the tool is carried out. An independent claim is included for a method for protecting mold tool of processing system.
