PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve fuel consumption while suppressing torque shock during fuel cut.SOLUTION: In the retard correction of an ignition timing during a delayed time from establishing fuel cut conditions to actually stopping fuel supply to a cylinder, the amount of the ignition timing to be retarded during the delayed time is set larger when an intake air pressure in an intake passage is high at a time right before, when, or right after establishing the fuel cut conditions, than when the intake air pressure is low at this time. Thus, the delayed time at a high vehicle speed is shortened to effectively extend a fuel cut period, resulting in reduced fuel consumption. |
