Printing method and offset printer

The method involves zonally metering printing ink (7) at viscosity by an ink zone metering device (6) of a printing machine (1) i.e. sheet-fed printing machine, and transferring the printing ink at another viscosity by a printing form cylinder (11), where the latter viscosity is greater than the former viscosity by a factor of 10. The ink is heated by a heating device (19) of an ink fountain roller (8) and subjected to ultrasound treatment. Droplets of water or dampening fluid are added to the ink. The ink is subjected to mechanical stress by kneading or shearing. An independent claim is also included for an offset printing unit.
