<p>More-highly functional safety is achieved, and the number of mechanical safety switches is reduced. Thus the number of subjects of maintenance and inspection is decreased, and reliability is increased. Disclosed is an electric safety elevator wherein detection is made of the position of a cage (20) which moves among a plurality of floors in a hoistway. The electric safety elevator is provided with a pulse generator (8) which outputs pulses according to the movement amounts of the cage (20); a position detection device (27) which detects that the cage (20) has reached a predetermined position; and a safety controller (2) which counts the number of pulses after the predetermined position is detected, and which, when the counted value becomes equal to a value stored in advance, outputs instructions that correspond to the stored value.</p> |
