The present invention relates to a light emitting quantum dot and, more particularly, to a light emitting quantum dot in which a ligand capping the quantum dot contains a light emitting material so that dispersibility and stability in an aqueous solution can be excellent, and excellent color purity and light emitting characteristics are obtained when applied to a light emitting device; and to a method for producing the same.
