<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine which can prevent sales information from being changed during rise time until a settlement processor can normally operate. <P>SOLUTION: The vending machine includes: a vending machine main control part for controlling a selling operation of an item stored in a vending machine body; a settlement processing means provided to communicate with the vending machine control part to perform settlement processing with a recording medium when the recording medium with settlement service information recorded thereon is held within a predetermined communicable area; and a sales storing part for storing sales information in both of the vending machine main control part and the settlement processing means, wherein the sales information is transmitted from the vending machine main control part to the settlement processing means when commodity sales is performed by using coins.
