PURPOSE: A method for handover in a multi-carrier system is provided to ensure the continuous of inter-neighboring cell coverage by performing handover through a basic carrier even though the cell coverage of each carrier is different from another. CONSTITUTION: In the direction in which a terminal moves toward the outside, an optimal carrier selection procedure comprises first intra frequency converting handover(NBC#a1->NBC#a2)(H1), second intra frequency converting handover(NBC#a2->BCC#a1)(H2), and inter frequency converting handover(BBC#a1->BCC#b1)(H3). In the direction in which the terminal enters a target cell, the optimal carrier selection procedure which happens toward an inner direction comprises a first intra frequency switching handover(BBC#b1->NBC#b2)(H4) and a second intra frequency switching handover(NBC#b2->NCC#b1)(H5). |
