The invention relates to taps for delivering a metered dose of fluid material. A tap 10 is disclosed comprising an inlet 12 and an outlet 13. The tap further comprises a valve housing 15 in communication with the inlet and outlet and a rotatable valve body 14 mounted within the valve housing. The valve body 14 has a cylindrical body 20 with an opening 23 in a surface thereof. There is no corresponding opening in an opposite surface such that a cavity 24 is formed with cylindrical body 20 and such that, in a first configuration, cylindrical body 20 is closed to admission of fluid from a container to which the tap is mounted and in a second configuration, cylindrical body 20 is open to admission of fluid, but closed to outlet spout 13. |
