fuel issuing on an outlet side of an anode of the fuel cell is fed back to an inlet side of the anode, via the recirculation blower; and the fuel issuing on the outlet side of the anode of the fuel cell is conveyed in a fuel return line, at least in places, in alternating flow directions, wherein the fuel is not conveyed to the fuel cell during the conveyance of the fuel in alternating directions.
