The present invention relates to an apparatus for measuring a precharge resistor which detects abnormality of the precharge resistor and discharges a current charged at a capacitor connected to outside, and a method therefor. The apparatus for measuring a precharge resistor comprises: a precharge function unit which includes a switch, a precharge resistor, a battery, and a capacitor configured to perform a precharge process; a detecting unit, which is connected to both terminals of the precharge resistor, and detects a variation in the precharge resistor in the precharge function unit before the precharge function unit performs the precharge process, wherein preset reference voltage and current are applied to the detecting unit; a control unit which is connected to the precharge function unit and the detecting unit to control the precharge function unit and the detecting unit; and an alarm unit which notifies an alarm or a notification when the variation of the precharge resistor is detected. |
