A walking route POI display system based on an image using 3D matching according to the present invention comprises a receiving unit for receiving, from a terminal, status information including location information of the terminal, view angle information of camera module equipped in the terminal, zoom status information and resolution information of the terminal; a storing unit for storing characteristic information on the location, shape and size of POI and 3D map database for POI; a POI extraction unit for extracting, from the 3D map database, a display POI corresponding to the status information received from the terminal and extracting a 3D display POI corresponding to the display POI; a region information generating unit for generating region information of the display POI in which the 3D display POI is projected to 2D display POI, wherein the region information generating unit generates region information of the display POI that is projected on a screen display means of the terminal by using the characteristic information of the display POI and current status information of the camera module; and a data processing unit for generating location information to output text information of the display POI as a coordinate value within each region information of the generated display POI and transmitting, to the terminal, the text information of the display POI along with the generated location information.
