A construction method for extending an elevator pit includes a step of excavating the ground around an existing foundation and an elevator pit; a step of forming a mold to form an expansion foundation on both sides of the existing foundation; a step of arranging reinforcing bars in the mold and placing and curing concrete; a step of demolishing the center of the existing foundation; a step of forming a hollow in the lower part of the existing foundation by excavating around the center of the demolished existing foundation; and a step of forming the elevator pit of a basement by placing the concrete after installing the mold in the hollow and arranging the reinforcing bars.
