PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that supplies a toner to a toner holding body through a supply member, and suppresses mixing of old and new toners having different chargeabilities from each other as a toner to be captured on the supply member so as to preferentially consume the old toner.SOLUTION: A developing device includes toner supply means 3 that connects a storage chamber 6 in which a new toner Tn is suppliably stored and a developing chamber 7 disposed with a supply member 2 and a toner holding body 1 through a toner conveyance path 5. The toner conveyance path 5 has a developing chamber side opening 9 that is located below a storage chamber side opening 8 of the toner conveyance path 5 and arranged to face an area below the rotation center of the supply member 2; and the supply member 2 rotates upward from below at a portion facing the developing chamber side opening 9 of the toner conveyance path 5.
