PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device having excellent display characteristics regardless of the direction to see a display screen, by suppressing reflection of light, e.g., external light, on the boundary surface in a shell type LED.SOLUTION: An LED chip 28 includes an LED element 2 sealed by a lens portion 11, and a waterproof resin layer 30 surrounding an outer peripheral proximal part 11a of the lens portion 11 of the LED element 2 while embedding. A colored portion 21 having a transmittance of light lower than that in a central part 20 of the lens portion 11 is formed in the outer peripheral proximal part 11a of the lens portion 11. The colored portion 21 is formed so that the transmittance of light decreases toward the bottom embedded in the waterproof resin layer 30, and the transmittance of incident external light 50 does not change suddenly at a specific incident angle. |
