PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a failure that linkage of a pedal member and a pedal operation amount detecting portion is disengaged in an early stage.SOLUTION: A vehicular pedal device includes: an accelerator pedal 12 operated in an available area 321; a sensor arm 218 energized in a returning direction RTN and acted with the operation of the accelerator pedal 12; a stroke sensor 202 for outputting an electric signal having output characteristics according to operation amount related to the accelerator pedal 12 which is transmitted through the sensor arm 218; and a failure determining portion 333 for determining a failure that the linkage between the accelerator pedal 12 and the stroke sensor 202 is disengaged, on the basis of an output characteristic value of the operation amount related to the accelerator pedal 12. The failure determining portion 333 determines that a failure occurs, when detecting that a position of the sensor arm 218 deviates from the available area 321 to a failure area 323 side. The output characteristics of the operation amount related to the accelerator pedal 12 in the failure area 323 is set to be steep as compared with the output characteristics in the available area 321. |
