PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress temperature unevenness in a direction orthogonal to a paper feeding direction of pressure means that constitutes a fixing nip.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: a heating rotating body that comes into contact with a toner image on a recording medium to fuse the toner image; a pressure rotating body that presses the recording medium against the heating rotating body; and an air cooling mechanism that cools the pressure rotating body. The air cooling mechanism includes fans, and ducts for transferring air from the fans to the pressure rotating body, and can selectively cool area parts in an axial direction of a pressure rotating body orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the recording medium. |
