A storage tube of the kind in which a beam of flood electrons 50 renders a charge pattern stored on a storage electrode 26 visible on a viewing screen 28, is provided with an electron impervious shield member 52 to surround the flood beam and to intercept electrons in the peripheral portions of the beam. The member 52 may be welded to the collector electrode support ring 42 as shown or to the target support ring 38 or may serve as the shroud ring for either the collector or target mesh. Alternatively the member 52 may be formed as an integral peripheral portion of either the collector or storage mesh. In another embodiment the shield member 52 is welded to the collimating electrode 22. |
