PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress excessive slack or pull of a sheet transported while riding between two sheet transport means adopting a synchronous motor and an asynchronous motor, respectively.SOLUTION: A sheet transport device includes: a transport roller of a sheet post-processing device transporting a sheet by a drive force of a DC motor; and a transport roller of a mail box transporting the sheet by a drive force of a stepping motor. If the sheet is transported after being fed from one of these transport rollers to the other, the DC motor starts to be driven at drive start timing determined by acceleration characteristics of the stepping motor at a time of sheet transport start when the same sheet is transported by both the transport rollers. |
