A convertible purse can be interconverted between a handbag, shoulder bag, drawstring bag, messenger bag, and backpack. The convertible purse also has interchangeable covers that allow the user to change the appearance of the convertible purse.

1. A convertible purse comprising:
a base purse having a top opening, said top opening of said base purse having a perimeter; one or more fastener portions provided along said perimeter of said top opening of said base purse; a purse cover having a top opening; and one or more fastener portions provided below said top opening of said purse cover such that with said base purse received entirely within said purse cover said fastener portions of said base purse are fastened to respective ones of said fastener portions of said purse cover to thereby secure said base purse in position within said purse cover.
