PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape measure which is capable of loosely rotating a drum with respect to a handle, while suppressing an operation from being complicated.SOLUTION: The tape measure includes a drum 5 for winding a tape, a rotary body 4 arranged in the drum 5 and rotated by a handle operation, and a rotation transmission mechanism 6 arranged between the drum 5 and the rotary body 4. The rotation transmission mechanism 6 is stored in a storage part 52 formed in the inner peripheral surface 5b of the drum 5 and constituted to transmit the rotation of the rotary body 4 to the drum 5, when the rotary body 4 is rotated in a first direction by the handle operation, but not to transmit the rotation of the drum 5 to the rotary body 4, when the drum 5 is rotated in a second direction opposite to the first direction by pulling out the tape. |
