PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner having an ultraviolet sterilization function, which uses no low-pressure mercury lamp for saving maintenance cost and labor due to degradation of a light source, efficiently performs sterilization, and can be downsized.SOLUTION: An air cleaner comprises a sterilization unit having a sterilization chamber in a ventilation passage of a blowing apparatus, so that air flowing through the sterilization chamber is exposed to deep UV to be sterilized. A device such as deep UV LED is used as light source of the air cleaner. At least a part of the internal surface of the sterilization chamber is composed of UV reflecting material, or a reflector composed of UV reflecting material is arranged in the sterilization chamber, so that deep UV emitted from the light source passing through the air in the sterilization chamber is then reflected by the internal surface or reflector composed of UV reflecting material and passes through the air once again or more. |
