PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus configured to reduce the amount of primary reflected light returning to a first irradiation part, the primary reflected light being obtained by reflecting light emitted from the first irradiation part.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 10 includes a support roller 105 supporting a sheet P with a toner image formed thereon, and a light source 1011 which emits a laser beam LB toward the support roller 105 from the side of the sheet P. The light source 1011 and the support roller 105 are arranged so that an optical axis a1 of the laser beam LB may not intersect with a rotation axis a2 of the support roller 105. When the optical axis a1 and the rotation axis a2 do not intersect with each other, the laser beam LB having been specularly reflected in an irradiation area D1 reaches a reflection plane 1033.
