PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide concrete means for transmitting and receiving data of a protocol on a communication line (for example, USB) different from a communication line compatible with the protocol while restraining modification of existing software to perform data communication by a prescribed protocol (for example, IPP).SOLUTION: In a client PC 3, a client side printer proxy 37 holds an IP address of a local host, and behaves as the local host. When an application 38 transmits a printing data transmission request to a second printer 12, a printer port client (PPC) 61 processes printing data according to the IPP standard, and hands it over to the client side printer proxy 37 via the TCP/IP. The client side printer proxy 37 transmits the printing data handed over by the PPC 61 to the second printer 12 via the USB. |
