PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing apparatus of a hardened steel material such as a hardened steel tube in which even if a processing method disclosed by patent literature 1 is enforced, generation of an oxide scale can be suppressed or dissolved.SOLUTION: A manufacturing apparatus of a hardened steel material includes: a feeding device that feeds a steel material to the longer direction; a heating device that is alienated from the fed steel material and disposed at a first position, and that heats the steel material to a temperature range in which hardening can be performed; a cooler that sprays a cooling medium to the steel material at a second position further downstream than the first position of a steel material feed direction to thereby perform hardening of the steel material; and a scaling prevention gas supply system in which a periphery space of a part that is heated by the heating device in the steel material is filled with an inactive gas or a reduction property gas.
