<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To urgently treat a large amount of contaminated materials caused by the dispersion of radioactive materials in an explosion disaster of a nuclear power plant, since radioactive material-contaminated materials are found everywhere in East Japan and safe long-term storage of contaminated materials is required as well as decontamination.SOLUTION: Radiation-contaminated materials are mixed with an adsorbent whose main agent is bentonite for adsorption of radioactive materials and placed on vermiculite for adsorption of radioactive materials laid on a burying hole bottom part. Radioactive materials can be prevented from moving by the burying of the contaminated materials with non-contaminated soil covering them from above. In the burying of plants or the like, over time, the generation of putrefactive gas and caving caused by reduced soil are predicted, but they can be solved by long-term management and support in construction sites.</p> |
