The method involves providing a portable data carrier (20) such as smart card e.g. Secure digital card(RTM: stamp-sized flash memory card) (20b) and Micro secure digital card(RTM: stamp-sized flash memory card) (20a), which comprises a Joint Test Action Groupinterface (22). Communication is performed with an electronic device (10) at a Joint Test Action Groupmode by the carrier, which functions as a Joint Test Action Groupmaster. Four Joint Test Action Groupsignals are exchanged for programming the electronic device. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a portable data carrier i.e. smart card, comprising an interface for data exchange (2) a device such as electronic device, for a machine control or terminal device. |
