An ionisable basic or acid therapeutic agent is reacted respectively with a cation or anion exchange resin having a degree of cross linking in the ranges of 1-5 or 7-9 % or of 12 or 20% and a particle size between -16 and +200 mesh B.S.S., to give a therapeutic composition suitable for oral administration. The product may be admixed with uncombined resin. The resin may be "Zeokarb" (Registered Trade Mark) 225 or 226 or "De Acidite" (Registered Trade Mark) E or FF.
