<p>A carbon quantum dot is carbon nanoparticles showing quantum effects, which is chemically stable and does not have biological toxicity, thereby being able to replace semiconductor quantum dots. According to the present invention, a method of synthesizing carbon quantum dots by creating a condition similar to a natural environment where coal and graphite are produced is developed, and by using an accelerating agent, all kinds of organic matters are degraded, thereby synthesizing the carbon quantum dots. In addition, by using organic solvent, efficiency of synthesizing the carbon quantum dots can be significantly improved, therefore a mass synthesis method is suggested. By using the method of the present invention, the size of the carbon quantum dots can be easily adjusted and the synthesized carbon quantum dots have excellent fluorescence characteristics and high dispersibility to water.</p> |
