The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of extract of Gelidium elegans having an anti-obesity activity and an anti-oxidation activity, which comprises a process of drying Gelidium elegans with far infrared rays, pulverizing and extracting the Gelidium elegans with 70% (v/v) ethanol at 25°C for 24 hours; extract of Gelidium elegans manufactured thereby and having an anti-obesity activity and an anti-oxidation activity; a composition having an anti-obesity activity and an anti-oxidation activity including the extract of Gelidium elegans or a fraction thereof; functional food having an anti-obesity activity including the composition; and functional food having an anti-oxidation activity including the composition. The extract of Gelidium elegans of the present invention is able to be usefully used in suppressing obesity caused by oxidative stress as the extract of Gelidium elegans is excellent in a fat accumulation reduction effect and an anti-oxidation activity. |
