<p>Disclosed are a display device having a touch screen and a method for controlling the screen thereof. The display device comprises a touch input sensing unit, a work type selecting unit, and a work executing unit. The touch input sensing unit senses a touch kind, a touch position, and touch time by the generation of user touch in a work command area which is formed in a band shape along each side of the touch screen. The work type selecting unit selects one work type of the movement, rotation, and scaling of the screen by using the touch kind, the touch position, and the touch time. The work executing unit executes the selected one work according to the selected work type. The work type selecting unit selects the movement of the screen as a work type in case of single touch and selects the rotation of the screen or the scaling of the screen as the work type according to the touch position in case of dual-touch. The present invention is provided to perform screen control desired by a user with a pushing operation by replacing a rubbing operation capable of making a problem with the pushing operation.</p> |
