摘要 The present invention pertains to a cup-type container that is obtained by compression molding a thermoplastic resin, that comprises at least a flange part, a body part, and a bottom part, and for which the ratio of the container height to an opening aperture (L/D) is at least 1.0. The height direction of a sample piece cut-out from the container body is defined as x, and the circumferential direction is defined as y. With respect to the peak strength distribution in the height direction (x direction) of a Debye ring obtained when diffraction strength measurement is performed by emitting x-rays orthogonally with respect to the xy plane of the sample piece, the value of P is in the range of 1.25-1.5 throughout the entire body part, where P is the peak strength in a diffraction angle 2&thetas;=14.5° and a peak half-width in a diffraction angle 2&thetas;=17.2°, the diffraction angles indicating the diffraction from a crystal surface the Miller index of which is (110). As a result of the foregoing, a cup-type container and a molding method therefor are provided in which the container is uniformly oriented in the height direction and circumferential direction thereof, has uniform strength in each direction, and has excellent heat resistance.
